Shopify install and setup

Do not submit to the Shopify App Store until the app is fully tested and monetisation is ready. This guide is for readiness and pilot setup.

Merchant flow

1. Install the app from a development or private app link.
2. Approve requested scopes.
3. Open App Home.
4. Match products to the Sniffopotamus corpus.
5. Configure Gift Finder.
6. Enable the theme app extension.
7. Test recommendations on the storefront.

App Home

App Home should show:

• Install status.
• Widget status.
• Product mapping progress.
• Recommendations served.
• Unmatched searches.
• Plan and quota.

Theme app extension

Use a theme app extension for storefront widgets. Do not edit merchant theme files directly.

Scopes

Request only what the app needs. For early pilots, start with product/catalogue read access before adding anything sensitive.
